Eye of Rah TikTok’s viral meme explained
Eye of Rah is trending topic on Social media, and especially TikTok. Eye of Rah goes viral on TikTok.
The ‘Eye of Rah’ is a viral TikTok theme characterized by a morphed picture of TikToker Rashad Bowens with a single Cyclops-like eye on his forehead, coupled with iconic red dreadlocks.
The theme became more and more viral since January and spawned several similar clones with illogical edits of other trending memes.
Who is Rashad Bowens?
Rashad Bowens, who is known for churning out reaction stitches and also for his bold red hair that sometimes sticks straight up, became the face of the meme “Eye of Rah.” It all started when TikToker Jeremiah Springfield created the first edit featuring the face of Bowens.
TikToker Jeremiah took a leaf out of the Hood Cryptids trend and took a video of Bowens, morphed it with a Cyclops-like eye on the forehead, and flaming locks.
The Rashad Bowens video is an old one, dating back to December 2022, when Bowens posted a stitch featuring him interrupting a man salting his cucumber and crying out,
“Ay, yo, chill the yo!”
The video became immensely popular and raked in over 597,700 views and 66,500 likes on TikTok. Jeremiah Springfield used the same video, which he edited complete with the Cyclops eye and flaming auburn hair. The edited version soon became very popular and has, to date, received over 1.8 million plays and 292,000 likes.

Later, another TikToker named @zketchum linked the video with the legendary Curse of Ra. The post garnered another 21,000 likes.
The trend soon spread to other social media platforms, and on December 22, 2024, Instagram user @skaxta shared the video on the platform, and it received over 451,100 likes.
Later, the Eye of Ra meme was blended with other themes, such as I Bought a Property in Egypt and Chopped Chin.
In popular culture, the Eye of Ra is a personification of the vengeance of Ra’s daughter against humanity. Ra, if you are unaware, is the Egyptian Sun God, and last year, another meme, the Curse of Ra, became a trend and went viral on the internet.
