Tulips (Tulipa) are a family of spring-sprouting perpetual herbaceous bulbiferous geophytes (having bulb as capacity organs). The blossoms are typically enormous, ostentatious and brilliantly hued, for the most part red, pink, yellow, or white (normally in warm tones). They frequently have an alternate hued smear at the foundation of the tepals (petals and sepals, altogether), inside.
